Megakaryocytes

Left panel: A mature megakaryocyte with a hyperploid nucleus and abundant pink grainy cytoplasm. Right panel: Immature megakaryocyte with a less lobulated nucleus, higher nuclear to cytoplasmic ratio and deep blue cytoplasm. The two images are taken at different magnification but the same Wright’s stain (mature megakaryocytes are the largest cell in marrow).
