Cytaux piroplasms

Several red blood cells contain ring forms of Cytauxzoon felis in their cytoplasm (arrows). Note the dark eccentric nuclei on the piroplasms merozoites). The cat had concurrent Mycoplasma haemofelis infection with detached organisms in the background (arrowhead). Wright’s stain (100x objective).
